Events and Social Dances

Cherry-Ann, one of my students, invited me over to the care home where she works to dance for the residents. She and I put together a mix of ballroom and latin dances which were well received by the residents, some of whom had danced themselves in the past. It was a lovely afternoon, one I’m sure we will repeat in the future.
Tea Dance, Sunday 20th August 2023
A lovely afternoon was had by all for the first Sunday Tea Dance held at Olton Friary. An afternoon of ballroom, latin and sequence dancing, accompanied by tea and cake. We learnt/revised the St Bernard’s Waltz after the tea. Thank you so much to everyone who came to make it such a fun event.
Our next tea dance will be on Sunday 19th November from 3.00-5.30pm at Olton Friary.
Organ Recital Saturday 14th October, 2023, Olton Friary
Organ music from the Oscars was an event to raise money to repair the organ at Olton Friary. It was a great evening of music, song and dance. It’s always nice to support at charitable cause, and the feedback on the event was so positive. So much so, we’ve had people asking when the next one will be! Thank you to Adam who danced the Waltz and Argentine Tango with me. (Photos below).

Sandeep and I were invited to provide a short Argentine Tango demonstration for the Chandos Choir. This was for their Argentine night, ahead of their performance of Misa Tango. We performed 3 pieces: a tango, vals and milonga, improvised in the traditional manner.
